The second-largest municipal economy in South Africa, Cape Town, rests in the coastal province of the Western Cape and accounts for 9.9% of South Africa's GDP. The city has become a financial and business hub generating most of the Western Cape's GDP from these services. Whilst Cape Town hosts the headquarters of a number of JSE listed companies, particularly in the retail and financial sectors, it continues to attract interest from multinationals and global organisations. The city's ability to offer relatively inexpensive skilled labour as well as a desirable lifestyle proposition for staff makes this an attractive option for international organisations.
